Brain
Awareness Week (BAW) is an international
effort organized by the Dana Alliance for Brain
Initiatives to advance public awareness about the progress
and benefits of brain research. Several partners are
joining in the campaign round the world, including
medical and research organizations; patient advocacy
groups; National Institutes of Health, and other government
agencies; service groups; hospitals and universities;
K-12 schools; and professional organizations.
The main message of BAW
is to promote a better knowledge of brain, brain diseases
and how they can be when possible prevented or treated.
During the BAW 2007 (March 12-18), in this website some educational papers
quite interesting for seafarer’s health such as anxety, depression and
head trauma will be available.
A forum with the
opportunity of asking questions to experts of our Research
Department will be also open.
We are looking at a good attendance to this initiative that represents a service
offered by C.I.R.M. to disease prevention and health education of seafarers.
